Plans for the second annual Soulsville USA Festival have been announced. The event, which launched in 2015, returns Oct. 15 to South Memphis’ Stax Museum/Soulsville complex at College and McLemore. The free concert and street festival will run from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Three stages will be set up in the neighborhood, and the featured performance this year will come from the “Take Me to the River” revue, featuring William Bell, the Hodges Brothers, Boo Mitchell, Al Kapone, and Frayser Boy, along with the Stax Alumni Band.
Also set to appear are Carmen Hicks, Brennan Villines, the Tennessee Mass Choir, the Iron Mic Coalition, Marco Alexander, Carla Tolbert-Taylor, Tia Henderson, Cherisse Scott, Juju Bushman, the Stax Music Academy Drum Line, and Adajyo, among others.
